Here Comes 'Four Weddings'

Undoubtedly, we love watching wedding shows, whether it shows a couple falling in love ('A Wedding Story'), nightmare brides from hell ('Bridezillas'), how a bride chose her wedding gown ('Say Yes to the Dress'), or how an overweight bride chose her wedding gown ('Bulging Brides'). Here comes 'Four Weddings' - the Canadian wedding show. Let’s take a sneak peek!

'Four Weddings' is, at times, exactly like these sister shows, and at other times in a world of its own. We'll probably be seeing other variations on this when it comes to Canada in early 2012. Yep, you read that right!

The first Canadian edition of the international hit series will premiere on January 4, 2012 on Slice. It follows four very different brides-to-be as they attend each other's very different weddings. What's at stake? The ultimate honeymoon.

In each episode, the four Canadian brides will rate each other's nuptials in -- you guessed it -- four categories: venue, food, overall experience and, most importantly, the dress. The bride with the highest total score wins a luxurious getaway for her and her new hubby.

"The 'Four Weddings' franchise has already had a tremendous response among international audiences," said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President of Content, Shaw Media, in a press release. "And now, for the first time ever, we're offering our viewers the opportunity to take in the styles and tastes of fellow Canadian brides tying the knot on home soil."

The format, similar to 'Come Dine With Me,' is based on the UK series, and just like the dinner-party show, things can get feisty, considering what's being judged is a manifestation of one's bridal ego. Oh, how romantic. Now let the weddings begin.

Walking down the aisle towards your loved one is a hugely significant part of your big day. To ensure that this important moment is everything you want it to be, you have to consider your wedding apparel carefully. Whether vintage wedding dresses, beach wedding apparel or other special wedding dresses, MLtailor is an ideal place for you to choose them from.

Pink Team or Red Team?

Undoubtedly, red is a hot trend. However, it's a bold color. Why not choose pink? We all know pink is a softer and sweet choice, compared with red. Some celebs opted for pink evening dresses at the red carpet. Let’s check them out.

Katy Perry continued her love affair with the color pink at the “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!” show. The host opted for a Dolce & Gabbana lace pink strapless gown which hugged her gorgeous figure. She also opted for fuchsia pink lips which were several shades lighter than her pink hair.

Amanda Seyfried showed her support for the March Of Dimes’ 6th Annual Celebration Of Babies Luncheon, wearing a pink Calvin Klein short-sleeve mini dress. Her beautiful, simple look is teamed with nude Yves Saint Laurent ‘Tribtoo’ pumps. Barely-there makeup and loose, natural waves completed the minimalistic look. Love it.

Why not pick out some prom dresses and little black dresses that you can always have in your wardrobe for a special occasion “back up” outfit? Chic and elegant special occasion dresses are really a must-have for a huge amount of women.

Wow! "X Factor" Favorite Natalie Bassingthwaighte's Romantic Wedding Ceremony

Last Sunday, 'X FACTOR' favorite Natalie Bassingthwaighte tied the knot with her long-time partner, musician Cameron McGlinchey, in a romantic ceremony overlooking the St Kilda foreshore. Come and have a look!

The bride arrived at the Stokehouse, where the wedding party had booked out the upstairs restaurant, in a white vintage Rolls-Royce.

She looked gorgeous in a white wedding gown by Melbourne designer J'Aton and was accompanied by her 16-month-old daughter Harper, who was dressed in blue.

As she entered the building, Bassingthwaighte said she was eager to see the groom.

The couple chose not to have bridesmaids or groomsmen, keeping the ceremony intimate.

J'Aton's Anthony Pittorino said the wedding gown had taken two weeks to create "with four people working on it and us going to bed at 5am".

"It has been a labor of love. There is a lot of embroidery. It is a very romantic gown, but still modern and quite sexy at the same time," he said.

"There is lots of see-through in it, and you can still see her legs if you look closely, but it is totally feminine and elegant."

About 100 guests attended the wedding, including actor Alan Fletcher and his wife, Jennifer Hansen.

Other guests included Neighbors star Stefan Dennis and his wife Gail, comedian Russell Gilbert, Rogue Traders frontman James Ash and his wife Melinda, and former footballer Nathan Brown and his wife Kristine.

Bassingthwaighte and McGlinchey have been dating since 2006, meeting when part of the hit-making band, Rogue Traders.

The musician proposed in July last year.

Their daughter was born the following month.

The couple opted not to sell their wedding day to a magazine, but were happy to share their big day with fans who had waited outside the Stokehouse to wish them well.

What Makes an Unforgettable Dress - A Spectacular Event for Fashion

A spectacular event for fashion – the celebration of Hal Rubenstein’s new book, 100 Unforgettable Dresses, has been held recently. The soirée was hosted by Vanessa Getty and the Giorgio Armani store, where guests convened to toast the author and discuss the 100 Most Unforgettable Dresses. Come and have a look at the event!

When asked, “What makes an unforgettable dress?” The author Rubenstein’s reply was threefold: “The right dress, on the right woman, at the right time.”

He gave the example of Jennifer Lopez’s pivotal moment from the 2000 Grammys, when she wore the green Versace evening dress.

It had been worn before by Amber Valetta at the Spring 2000 show and again by Donatella Versace at the Met Ball, without causing a stir. Yet, on the evening of the Grammy’s, J. Lo hit the trifecta – it was the right dress, she was the right woman, and it was the right time. The dress catapulted J. Lo into the spotlight and she never looked back.

Follow the jump to read more!

A dress, he explained, does not have a life of its own. “It comes to life on a woman,” and with the right match, it can make for an unforgettable moment.

Princess Diana’s second appearance in the book illustrates this point perfectly – what Rubenstein calls her “Revenge Dress”.

A newly divorced Diana planned to attend an event at the Serpentine Gallery in London, on the same evening that her ex-husband, Prince Charles, had decided to appear on national television to publicly acknowledge his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. Diana had planned on wearing a Valentino, but upon hearing of the Prince’s announcement, changed her mind. She pulled out of her closet a dress she’d had made three years prior, when she was still married to the Prince. The custom-made Christina Stambolian dress was short, fitted, and certainly flattered her figure. She never wore the dress, fearing that it was a bit too much for a woman of her royal standing. However, on that evening it was perfect – she looked absolutely stunning, and it became the second most photographed dress she ever wore (second only to her wedding dress). No one was talking about Prince Charles and Camilla the next morning, they were talking about Diana.

The evening was truly remarkable, as is the book. 100 Unforgettable Dresses chronicles an amazing collection of celebrity dresses, paired with the amazing women wearing them. Vanessa Getty summed things up when she remarked, “It’s the first book I’ve read cover to cover in a long time.” It is stories like these that make fashion memorable and meaningful.

“And always remember,” Rubenstein added, “anyone has the ability to be unforgettable.”

Thigh-high Slit Trend

Thigh-high slits are so popular that they frequent the red carpet recently. Now, let’s have a look at some celebrity dress first.

On 7th, Jennifer Lopez just attended the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards showing off her toned legs.

Earlier, model Rosie Huntingdon rocked the same look in a Burberry gown.

The style has been seen on all aged celebrities but evening gowns aren’t the only pieces of clothing with sporting the sexy slit. This season, almost every form of wear from evening gowns to casual skirts is being sold with this style. And that includes wedding dresses.

The thigh-high slits have been seen in many wedding collections this past Bridal Fashion Week 2011.

Thigh-high slit styles have been spotted in Reem Acra Fall 2012 collection, Pronovias 2011 Costura Collection, Ines de Santo, Monique Lhuillier, Atelier Aimee and Elie Saab Couture Spring 2011, among others.

Although you’re not Rosie Huntingdon and you don’t have her Victorias Secret approved model stems, or rock hard, toned one’s like the Bronx-born diva, showing a little leg may be the perfect way to spice up your big day.

Why not pick out some prom dresses and little black dresses that you can always have in your wardrobe for a special occasion “back up” outfit? Chic and elegant special occasion dresses are really a must-have for a huge amount of women.
